1 Requirements

  • Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 or 2024 (PC version)
  • Windows 10 or 11
  • Some flight simulation experience (any level welcome)
  • Approximately 45-60 minutes of your time

Note

You'll fly two approaches: Innsbruck (LOWI) and Paro (VQPR). Any aircraft with an ILS-capable cockpit is fine.

Download & Launch

Download the study app, extract, and run Thesis.exe

Consent & Demographics

Read the consent form and answer a few background questions

Watch Briefings

View a video or PDF briefing for each approach (randomized)

Fly the Approaches

Fly both approaches in MSFS while the app records your flight data

Quick Survey

Answer workload questions and provide optional feedback

The study application connects to Microsoft Flight Simulator to record your flight data. Your data is anonymized and used solely for academic research.
