Video Briefings for Complex Airports

Ethics Approval: ETH2425-1006 | City St George's, University of London

We're conducting academic research on the effectiveness of video briefings compared to traditional PDF/chart briefings for challenging airport approaches. This study aims to quantify the impact on pilot performance and situational awareness.

  • Comparing video vs. PDF briefing formats
  • Testing approaches to Innsbruck (LOWI) and Paro (VQPR)
  • Measuring performance metrics via Microsoft Flight Simulator
  • Collecting workload assessments using NASA-TLX
